Blind Shame
EVERYMUSIC YOU WANT TO LISTEN
Biography
Guitar Player - Jay
I started playing guitar at the age of 11 when my Dad bought me my first guitar. After jumping off my bed for a couple of years listening to bands like Poison, Cinderella and Bon Jovi. I lost interest for a while (mainly because I broke my guitar jumping off the bed). Then around the age of 15, I started getting serious about the guitar again by taking lessons, learning theory, learning different styles of playing and appreciating them (acoustic, electric & classical). I grew up on the whole late 80’s scene and still love it today (it was all about having a good time and partying, what’s wrong with that?).
The guitarists that inspired my playing the most were Richie Sambora and CC Deville. Listening and watching them made want to learn how to play. My most memorable music experience was going to Berkley College of Music in Boston for a week in 1996 to study guitar. Meeting people from all over the world and having great players like John Pettrucci give lectures was mind blowing. Even though it was only a week, its something I will never forget! My current musical taste are Third Eye Blind, BuckCherry, Black Crowes, U2, Goo Goo Dolls and favorites like Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Tesla. favorite drink -Labbatt's Blue Draft and Jack & Coke, zodiac sign = Gemini
Bass Player - Joe
I spent my teen years living in the Seattle-Grunge Era, worshipping such bands as Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and most importantly…Nirvana. I began playing guitar when I was 15, but I wasn’t too serious about it at the time. I took lessons from Bob of Black Market (Guitar Guru) who continues to broaden my knowledge of music. The death of Kurt Cobain probably had the most impact on my music career and inspired me to work harder at my goal of becoming a rock star. I played in my first band when I was 17. We were an angry sounding punk band called "6° of Separation". We played some very angry originals and some Misfits covers. Needless to say we only played out once and that was the end of it. I began playing bass guitar when I was 18 because I realized there was a shortage of "good" bass players. I played bass for a band called "Innuendo" when I was 19. During this time we partied hard like a real rock and roll band should. It was nice having real fans and groupies. Innuendo was a very life altering experience, but was short lived due to "creative differences". After being band-less for probably a good six months I began going through withdraws and needed to play again. Finally, after all that time, destiny brought me to Blind Shame and the rest is history.
