Blind Shame
EVERYMUSIC YOU WANT TO LISTEN
Welcome to Blindshame.com
The roots of Blind Shame can be traced back to the summer of 1994, when Jay and Chad met and formed their first band together. A hard-rock quintet, the band split after 3 months of existence. After that, Jay and Chad musically went their separate ways, while still remaining friends. In the summer of 1995, just for kicks, they formed a side project (female singer, acoustic guitars). In October of that year, they found Barb. At that point the "side project" became more than that. Now their main focus, the band went electric and went through a few lineup changes, including female singers and a couple of bass players.
In January of 1998, in a Communications class at Oakland University, Chad met Eric. After an in-class jam session, Chad and Eric started hanging out, talking music. All this time, the band continued to search for a female singer. In October, fed up with searching for a female, they decided to start considering male singers. Eric was the first they had come and try out; he was also the last. Finally, everything clicked.
At that point, the band took on a totally different style/attitude/sound. Mixing their varied influences, the band continuously tweaked their sound until it became what it is today. Adding Joe to the lineup in October of 2000, the band is currently trying to make their mark on the Detroit music scene with their own brand of High-Energy Modern Rock. Hopefully the rest, as they say, will be History...
Drum Player - Barb
I started playing drums at the age of 14; well, sort of. My parents bought me my first set at the age of 14, but being an aggressive player, it only lasted about a week. I got another set when I was 16 that lasted a little longer . . . about 2 weeks. So I gave up for about a year.
At the age of 17, I finally bought my first set that actually held up to my abuse. Inspired by the likes of The Police, Bob Marley, Roxy Music, U2 and REM, I would practice every day for hours on end for the next few years.
I’ve been playing in different bands and with different musicians in the Detroit area for the last 10 years. I’ve met some amazing musicians who have all left a lasting impression on me
